Research

1. Noncovalent interactions and supramolecular chemistry

We are interested in how molecules interact to form supramolecular aggregates and how this is reflected in crystal structures. We focus on the nature and strength of these interactions and how they can be exploited in material and crystal design.

2. Electronic structure of transition metal complexes

We make us of computational and theoretical tools to investigate the electronic structure of unusual transition metal complexes that help us understand their stability, bonding and other properties of interest such as the magnetic behavior

3. Design of molecular devices

We aim at using our knowledge on electronic structure to design molecular devices, such as wires or switches, that can be incorporated into future nanomachines.
